Meet Dr. Masha Polan
For me, dentistry is about so much more than just fixing teeth, it's about helping people feel better about themselves. I love being someone my patients can rely on, whether they're in pain, in need of answers, or simply looking for a partner in their long-term oral health. I strive to provide care that is efficient, honest, and truly personalized, so people can get back to their lives feeling more confident and cared for.
I feel incredibly grateful to do what I love, and even more grateful to the patients who trust me with their care. I hope that when you come to see me, you feel that appreciation in every interaction. My goal is to make your dental experience a positive one and to help you leave with a healthier smile and greater confidence.
I was born in Riga, Latvia, and grew up in the beautiful Northern California wine country. I’ve always had a passion for both science and creativity, and dentistry has been the perfect blend of both. I’m a hands-on problem solver who loves working with people, and I feel incredibly lucky to do what I do every day.
I attended the University of the Pacific in Stockton, where I earned a full-ride scholarship to play Division I volleyball while majoring in Biological Sciences. I’m 6’3” and have always loved the game—so being inducted into the Sports Hall of Fame in my hometown of Livermore in 2019 was a huge honor. After college, I went on to earn my Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) from the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in 2013.
Since then, I’ve been committed to creating a dental practice where patients feel appreciated, respected, and truly seen. I’m especially passionate about Invisalign and continue to further my training in it. I believe that straighter teeth are healthier, easier to clean, and make future dental work easier and longer lasting.
When I’m not in the office, you’ll likely find me with my family. I met my husband, Kellen, through volleyball, and we’ve been together since 2010. He works in real estate banking and loves playing basketball. We have two amazing boys, KJ who’s eight and loves all sports and Noah who’s six and is crazy about animals and the beach.
I’m very involved in my children’s school, Carrillo Elementary, and love volunteering and being a part of their activities. My husband coaches several sports teams, and I enjoy spending time with the kids and their families. I really believe it’s important for children to have positive role models, and I try to show up for mine in every way I can.
In my free time, I love taking walks by the ocean, watching volleyball (especially when I get to play!), keeping up with the latest shows and movies, and trying new restaurants with friends. I also enjoy staying in the loop on current events.
